Sri Lanka's former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran was issued with a notice today by the Colombo Chief Magistrate, Thilina Gamage, ordering him to appear in Court on February 25, 2025, in connection with an alleged loss exceeding Rs.10bn to the government from a 2015 bond issue.
The Deputy Director General Subhashini Siriwardena, of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), presented the factum naming Mr.Arjuna Mahendran as a party to the case. Accordingly, Chief Magistrate, Thilina Gamage, after reviewing the material regarding the controversial bond scandal issued the order.
